Purchase terms.
These terms apply when you buy a MeterWatch sensor or pay for a MeterWatch plan. They sit alongside our Terms of service and Privacy policy.
Last updated: November 4, 2026.
1. Who you're buying from
You're buying from Belenga Dev, which operates MeterWatch, of 25 Shortheath Road, Chisipite, Harare, Zimbabwe.
Contact us at [email protected] or on WhatsApp or phone at +263 71 910 3020.
2. Orders and prices
- The price of each item and your total are shown in the shop before you pay. Prices are in the currency shown in the shop. Where a currency exchange applies, bank rates are used.
- Stock is limited. If an item sells out, we tell you and don't take payment for it.
- Each order has a maximum value per transaction, shown in the shop.
- An order is confirmed when your payment is confirmed. We then contact you on the number you gave to arrange delivery.
- You're responsible for entering a correct name, phone number and delivery details.
3. Payment
- You can pay with EcoCash, OneMoney, InnBucks or O'mari. Payments are processed by Paynow. We don't see or store your wallet PIN.
- If your payment is pending or fails, no order is confirmed. If money left your wallet but the order isn't confirmed, contact us with your payment reference and we'll sort it out.
- Mobile-wallet fees, if any, are charged by your provider.
4. Delivery and installation
- We deliver anywhere, and delivery is at your cost. Once your payment reflects, we contact you within working hours to confirm your order and arrange delivery, and we tell you the delivery cost before we send. We also ask you for your Wi-Fi name and password then, so we can set up the sensor before delivery.
- The sensor attaches to the outside of your meter. Follow the setup guide. You must never open your meter, remove its seals or tamper with it.
- You're responsible for making sure you're allowed to fit a sensor to your meter. If the meter belongs to your utility or landlord, get their permission first.
- You install the sensor yourself. If you need help, ask us and we'll assist.
5. Warranty
Your sensor has a 6-month warranty from the date it's delivered. It covers a defective sensor. If your sensor is defective during that time, contact us and we'll repair it. If it can't be repaired, we'll replace it.
This doesn't limit any rights you have under the law that can't be excluded.
6. Faulty items
- If your sensor arrives faulty or damaged, or isn't what you ordered, contact us as soon as you notice, and we'll repair or replace it.
- We replace faulty items. We don't give refunds.
- To report a faulty or damaged item, send your sensor ID, your order details, and photos if it's damaged or faulty.
7. What the sensor does and doesn't do
- The sensor measures the electricity your meter has counted. It does not read your balance and cannot recharge your meter.
- Balance, time left, cost and appliance values are calculated or estimated. They can differ from your meter and your utility's bill. Your meter and your utility's statements are the official record.
- Readings need power and internet at the sensor. If the internet is down, the sensor stores its pulse count and sends it later when it reconnects. The last count is kept if the sensor is switched off. While it has no power, it can't see the meter's flashes.
- The sensor reads the meter's pulse light. If the light is dirty, covered or faulty, the sensor can't count pulses, and that isn't a sensor fault. Check the pulse light first before you report a problem.
- The sensor is not a safety device. Don't rely on it to detect faults, overloads or fires.
8. Plans and billing
Live readings need a paid plan on each meter. Current prices, features and minimum terms are shown on the Plans page in the app.
- Billing: each paid plan is charged monthly and has a minimum commitment shown when you subscribe. We send you an invoice about 7 days before a plan ends, and you can pay it by mobile wallet.
- When a plan ends: it keeps working for 7 more days. After that, live data, balance and alerts stop. The sensor keeps recording. When you pay, your history is available again.
- Trial or promotional plans: these end on the date shown, with no grace period.
- Cancelling: you can stop renewing at any time, but the minimum commitment on your plan still applies.
- Price changes: we may change prices for future billing periods. We'll tell you before a change takes effect.
- History: the Live plan keeps 30 days of history. The Intelligence plan keeps history since the sensor was installed.
9. Your data
We collect your readings and account details to run the service. How we use and protect them is explained in our Privacy policy. You can ask us to delete your account and data at delete account.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about your purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the item or plan involved. We're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost savings or a prepaid balance that ran out sooner than estimated. Nothing here excludes liability that can't be excluded by law.
11. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. The version shown when you place an order applies to that order. These terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe.
